Lanivet Pubs

We are staying at the Lakeview Country Club in July, just wondered whether there were any local pubs we could walk to on an evening. Already aware of the Lanivet Inn, not sure whether that's walkable or whether a taxi required. All suggestions gratefully received, even Bodmin if that's worth a journey one evening. Many thanks Amanda :o)

Lanivet Inn is walkable, it would take about half an hour, but I wouldn't recommend it in the dark. The road has no pavement and no lighting, cars can go up and down the Old Coach Road at a bit of speed, so it would be really dangerous.

In Bodmin there are quite a few pubs. Wetherspoons is worth a look, it's a converted Methodist chapel, still with many original features in place, and all the usual things you get with Spoons.

Weavers in Honey Street is nice for a quiet drink and a meal, Hole in the Wall is the old debtors prison, and is good for a drink, but if you go on quiz nights you better not make a noise, they get very cross!

Q Bar is good for sports fans, and also make very nice cocktails!

There is even a night club in Bodmin, the Eclipse if you fancy that.

The Eclipse is ok if you are between 15 & 25. The Hole in the wall now does snacks in the evening.........far better than Weatherspoons junk food! A nice friendly pub is the Masons Arms and serves well kept real ales and is CAMRA recommended.
