beachfront lodging?

Looking for a place to stay in puerto escondido very close to or on a beach that is safe for swimming, preferably with chairs/palapas. Thanks for advice.

Playa Carrizalillo has a reputation for being a safe beach for swimming. I think if you google those two words, perhaps with rental and / or condominium or something along those lines, you'll come up with several options including weekly rentals for condos, apartments, hotels and B & Bs, etc, etc, etc. In addition, you can always rent accommodations around Zicatela, Adoquín, etc., and take a very inexpensive cab to Carrizalillo (or walk) to spend the day along the beach. It's a sheltered beach, sort of like a little cove, with palapa style restaurants, lounge rentals, etc. Thus, you don't even have to stay around that beach to enjoy its benefits.

We recently got back from a trip to Puerto Escondido, and to reiterate what m0sca suggests, we stayed in Villas Ndaaya in Punto, and it was utterly fabulous!

The owners Teresa and Fernando were so lovely, very friendly and went out of their way to help and make us feel welcome. Hammocks all over the place too! Very comfy indeed.

Highly recommended.
