Hurricane seasons are tough to predict. Even NOAA do their best and get it wrong. As for rain, August is within the rain season, and many days clouds will come and go, often without giving rain even though you expect it. However, rain can and will happen quickly at any point during the day, and most often a quick storm but some days it may drizzle for awhile. The rest of the day, most days, are fine, especially in the AM.

August is definitely one of the rainiest months here. As danj says, it's pretty much impossible to predict, especially several months out, as would be the case with a wedding.

You can pretty much be 100% sure that it will be dry from October 15th through May 15th. July-Sept. are the wettest months.

It is worth mentioning that there are two types of rain here...normal rain that comes in off the mountains is not a big deal, and it generally will rain itself out in a couple hours, but rain that comes in off the sea is generally accompanied by wind and can last for several days even if it is just a small storm.

To make a long story short, if rain would ruin your wedding, come any time between November and April.
