Visiting Ixtapa for the first time

We are planning a 2 week trip to Ixtapa in February. We will be staying at a B&B, Casa Candiles. We would appreciate any and all advice or recommendations from fellow travellers, so that we can make our stay memorable. Any responses would be appreciated.

Plan some day trips to Barra de Potosi and Las Gatas. Zihua is a short taxi ride away with some amazing restaurants and shops.

2 weeks???? I enjoyed my week in Ixtapa/Zihua but there is no way I could manage 2 weeks there without going stir crazy.

that is funny, two weeks is too long?? haha! Maybe at an AI.

Marty, we had a wonderful two weeks in Ixtapa/Zihua twice.

Plenty of day trips to do, as Gary mentioned.

Head to Las Gatas, Isla Ixtapa, Troncones, Barra de Potosi...there are 4 days right there.

Go deep sea fishing, maybe do a discover dive or snorkel boat tour to Playa Manzanillo.

Go parasailing or parachuting in Ixtapa.

Spend a day walking from one end of Zihua Bay to the other, stopping for cervezas and lunch along the way.

have fun!

I agree with Maggie!!

A couple more trips to Las Gatas or Isle Ixtapa.

A couple more days out chasing Billfish or Tuna.

A couple more days "recovering" should the nights get a little over indulged!

*Poof* that other week is gone, and your already making plans for the next trip with the "next time I want too" conversation!!!!

It takes a few days to unwind, then you get into planned activities, then you have a few days left. Two weeks is not a problem for me. Especially with a few "recovery days."

But I do know some folks who are just poolside all the time, and they think two weeks is too much. The good news is that while you figure out what category you fall into, you are in a great place with friendly accomadating locals.

And there are certainly enough good restaurants to try over 2 weeks. . . that would be a bonus for me.
