2 Bank questions???

Will the bank there exchange us dollars for pesos? Limit? Is the exchange rate better there or here? My bank is saying $1 = 11 pesos on exchange here. Doesn't that sound low? Confused.

Seems a bit low..

When you say “Bank” where are you talking about? There are no banks in PA, only ATMs. If you use them, they will convert & dispense your cash in pesos…

Thank you sundog. So it does appear that the exchange is better in Mexico. Are there any names of banks that are more American friendly than others?

Canadian banks are of course the best (e.g. Scotia)

Truthfully, these exchange rates are from street exchange places called Cambios

You may get better places in a bank but their could be linups

I also use ATMs

When you use the ATM, don't they charge you exchange fees?

What ever it says on the display screen when you withdrawal at a Mexican ATM, Plus what your bank charges you is what you pay. Choose accordingly.

"Canadian banks are of course the best (e.g. Scotia)"

I dont argue that may be true for Canadians but I avoid Scotia Bank in Cozumel because the exchange rate is almost always the worst of any bank in town.
