just seeing who's going from UK around this time? also any tips we are going as a family of 3 ( 2 adults and a 5 year old)

whats the kids club like and what are the timings for it?

are the mosquitoes really that bad we have repellent and plug ins for the room.

Also I completely forgot until just now with being so busy at work about injections/vaccinations i have put in an enquiry at the doctors but i have to wait a few days for them to get back to me. so just to get an idea has anyone else had to have any travelling from the UK?

Also 2 weeks all inclusive we have already booked 2 trips to go on ( dolphins and las caletas) how much spending money do you recommend or are others thinking of taking?

anything i should know? we are celebrating a special occasion will the hotel do anything? we don't want the room to be too noisy we have booked a double room with balcony.

I am a little weary of the reviews i have read i read all these bad reviews and then the occassional one to say ignore the bad reviews. keeping everything crossed and cannot wait now! what kind of weather can we expect? every time i look at my phone to check it it has overcast clouds & potential thunder or rain but Hot. really hope the weather is good!

sorry i am going on now just intrigued to hear everyone's thoughts.

We were recommended the usual Hep A and Typhoid jabs etc, if you frequently travel, you might have this cover already. No Malaria! Look at the fit to travel website (think that's what it's called, you can get a link from the uk government foreign office web site on the Mexican travel advice page). We were there in May, fantastic resort, food and drink excellent. Got bit a few times even though we had deet spray and plug-in in the room. Mention your special occasion to the Thomson/Tui reps Tom and Julia are really helpful. We had a room overlooking the property to the side of the Riu, not the courtyard, it was very quiet, we had lovely views of surrounding countryside and could see as far as Puerto Vallarta, but only had a small glimpse of the sea, so it depends what you want. If you have any room requests email the hotel, they will do their best to help you. The trips are quite pricey if you want to book any more. Eating and drinking out in Bucerias or downtown Puerto Vallarta is quite reasonable, but the food is so good at the hotel we didn't bother, just had a drink when we went to Bucerias. Taxi to Bucerias is 85 pesos, to Puerto Vallarta 230 Pesos there and 280 pesos on the return trip. You can get local buses to PV. I would say ignore all the bad reviews, we have been to 8 different Riu hotels and this one was the best. Yes it probably is better at the Riu Palace Pacifico, but I don't think the extra price is worth it. Hope you have a lovely time, go and enjoy!

Kids club is fantastic, our 5 year old loved going last year. She went both morning and afternoon every day.

With excursions you're limited to how many you can do with a 5 year old. We did Last Caletas (which was a great day out) and also did a horse-riding excursion which our little girl loved.
