Water Taxi/Regular Taxi

So I will be staying at the Occidental Grand when it opens. Can someone tell me how much it is to take a cab to downtown PV? And how much is a water taxi there? Also, does the water taxis run late?

Not sure where the occidental grand is located, but assuming it is in NV because you have posted here. Taxi costs depend on how far you travel. There is bus service from NV to PV (Sheraton) - about 13 pesos, catch other buses in to Old Town for about 6 pesos. Taxi can run anywhere from 160 to 250 pesos depending on how far you travel (50 pesos in NV area). Water taxi is about $25 per person and no, they do not run late. Wud only recommend water taxi for a "fun" touristy, one-time thing, not regular transport.

We recently took the water taxi when staying in NV. It departs from Paradise Marina, near Paradise Mall. One way from the marina to Old Town is $14.00 US, $20.00 round trip per person. They will schedule your trip back to make sure they have a boat ready. It is an enjoyable experience! It takes about 1/2 hour, about the same as a regular taxi!

Do NOT take the water taxi!! We had done this 5 years ago and it was fine.

This time we had to wait over an hour from the scheduled time for the taxi, were charged more than advertised and, when we reached the old port, there was NO PIER. We had to do a (very unsafe) transfer to a different boat and then jump into the water to get off the boat. On top of it all, one of the guys running the boat tried to talk us into going back much earlier than planned.

We ended up taking a regular taxi back for less money.

Since we had paid for round trip, we went back to the "gentleman" from whom we purchased our tickets looking for at least a 50% refund. He did nothing but blow smoke up our rears. We ended up with a 200 peso refund, about 1/4 what we had originally paid.

The Occidental Grand is I believe across from Paradise Village Mall.

Wow, ok, Taxi it is then! I don't feel like jumping into the water
