How much will a taxi be from Bucerias to Hard Rock Hotel?
Should be about 100 to 120 pesos.
How difficult is it to take the bus from Villa Magna to Bucerias?
Hi 'inthegarden' - 'senorbobo' is correct, it should cost between $85-$130 pesos - check out www.bestofbucerias.com/page_getting_around_8 that gives a breakdown of the costs of taxi and bus between Bucerias and nearby towns!
Taking the bus from Nuevo Vallarta to Bucerias is also very simple, once your on the main highway, just catch anybus that has your destination written on the bus window! 12 pesos per way.
It is exactly 85 pesos
We have stayed at VM and it is not practical to take a bus to Bucerias. There is no direct bus. You have to get to the main highway from VM, and catch a bus or transfer there. We have never tried it, but a walk to the highway from VM would probably be at least 30 minutes. A taxi is approx. $8 one way so we never bothered trying to do the bus.
8-10 bucks is cheap enough..............we'll be doing it more than a few times after Monday.
It was a rack rate of 130 peso last November, Bucerias to Neuvo. It didn't matter who we asked, the hotel, the cab on the street, the cab in Bucerias on the cab row, or the cab on Laz.Card walking towards Royal Decameron shopping. Really cheap for the 4 of us.
We are staying next door to Hard Rock and the standard rate to Bucerias is 130 pesos (printed list in our lobby.) Bus going to Bucerias is awkward because you have to cross the highway and wait for another bus, but returning is easy: Bus from Bucerias to "entrada do Nuevo Vallarta" and then catch Nuevo bus in. We have also caught a combination of bus and "collectivo" back to Nuevo. We have been told that collectivos (passenger vans) should be available from Nuevo to Walmart and then bus on into Bucerias, but the Collectivos won't stop for tourists in Nuevo if there are taxis nearby. Maybe a local expert can explain that - I think it might have to do with taxi unions ...????
I've never heard that "Collectivos won't stop for tourists in Nuevo if there are taxis nearby". Your theory about the taxi drivers union may be right, though.
Since there are a fair amount of Mexicans who vacation in Nuevo Vallarta, how could a collectivo driver possibly tell if a potential passenger was a tourist, or not?Edited: 24 February 2013, 23:04
I paid 110 pesos from Dreams VM to Bucerias in 2010 so 130 pesos sounds right. Elenemex I still remember and love the lunch and time we spent together :)
We had no problems catching a colllectivo back to Dreams VM from Walmart and three of us were as blonde hair, green eyed as you can get >;D I would be a little worried about catching the bus from across the highway as it is a very busy highway.
