Taxi Prices for Traveling into Puerto Vallarta

I am going to be staying at the Riu Vallarta in Nuevo! I am wondering the costs for taxis to travel into Puerto Vallarta, or if there are any shuttle buses or anything set up by the hotel. If so where are they located and what is the price of those?? HELP IM TRYING TO BUDGET MY TRIP.

Not sure about taxi fare but it would probably run $20-25, I think. Most people use the bus system. Safe, reliable and inexpensive- just a few pesos.

NO shuttles from the Rius. Bus is just across the street. Cheap and fun to do.., They do stop running about 930.pm from Pt.Vallarta to Nuevo.

The staff do a Club/bar hop to town, for a cost.,but you must get cab back.

Thank you! Is there a cost for the bus? And does the cost include a round trip?

Bus to PV is 15 pesos / person. Simplest is to take bus to the stop opposite the Walmart / Sam's Club near the Cruise Ship dock in PV and get off there. If going on to the Malecon / El Centro just hop on a bus there that says El Centro in the windshield, for 7.5 pesos. Bus fare is single use only - no transfers and no round trips.

As you note budget concerns, your round trip by bus to El Centro will only be 45 pesos.

About 15peso Each to the Cruise ship Terminal (across from Walmart) then you jump on the El Centro bus to downtown Pt.Vallarta, about another 10 peso.

Same in Return. change bus at Walmart for the NUEVO bus. The buses stop running around 9pm to Nuevo.

Keep in mind that the taxis charge per vehicle, not per person and they accommodate 3-4 people. For more than that, you'll need to get a taxi van. It is NOT customary to tip the driver unless he has done something like helping with your luggage or packages/groceries.

Very helpful! We are at Grand Marina and want to spend the day in PV. What is the best time to head downtown on a Sunday? Should we go the farthest south and walk/bus our way back?
