Occidental Grand All Inclusive.....

Considering a two week, all-inclusive vacation at the Occidental Grand.......Do we have to make reservations for a la carte restaurants, and how many times per week can we dine at the restaurants....? We do not plan to upgrade to the Royal Club.......

Are certain floors non-smoking....?

What kind of weather can we expect in late January....?

When I was there a few years ago, you got 2 or 3 ala cartes per 7 day stay. There was a desk by the lobby that opened at 9 AM and that is where you made your reservations.

Been a while so that may have changed so a more recent visitor should be able to confirm or correct this.

It is true you have to make reservations and are limited depending on length of stay.

There is no smoking in any rooms and just so you know there are no balconies for the regular rooms.

Also beware you will be greeted by the timeshare people each time you get off the elevator.

There are nicer places in the area for around the same cost. Look at the Riu Palace much nicer place with better food and service.
