Just back from Dreams VM, any questions?

I did a live thread while there, but if there are any other questions, please ask and I'll try to answer.

Hi senorbobo! We are going June 15-22 and was wondering how the weather was ? We are travelling with small children (4 years and 5 months) were there any other children there? I am a little worried we might get the stink eye if my 4 year old gets a little loud :/ We will stay clear of any adults only areas but still want him to be able to have fun. How is room service? What items are avaialable on it? I think we might be using that service alot haha. I know you don't travel with kids but any other advice I might need to know? Oh and do you have an email contact for the hotel? I would like to make some room "requests" before we arrive. Thank you!!!

Do they have live entertainment at night? Website state that you have privileges at Dreams Puerto Vallarta and Now Amber resorts. Don't want to watch a movie on the beach but would like nice music to listen or dance to for our 41st anniversary. How far from town or shopping?

Hi,I have booked up to go for 2 weeks. What can you tell me about the room service? Are drinks also available on room service? Is it available late at night? Is there an extra charge? Also I'm quite intrigued about this delivery box, how does that work? I considering spending the odd night utilising the balcony and jacuzzi so room service would be great? Thanks in advance for any info. Nick

It was hot and humid when we were there. Temp was 90F plus. HUmidity was going up a little more toward the latter part of the trip. We saw several families with children there. Now as schools finish, I'm sure there will be more. Let the 4yr old have fun, Kids will be kids. THe middle pool will be perfect for you as it is a zero depth going out to 2 ft depth after 50 feet or more. Room service is good. We like the Bar-b-que wings. They did have some kids things too. There is also a kids section at the buffet by the doors that exit on the lower level. If you are on Facebook, befriend the e-concierge at Dtams Villa Magna. His name is Alex. That's how I contact them.

Different entertainment each evening. Two fiestas (Mexican and Carribean), a fire show, a circus show, an Elvis show, casino night and karaoke when we were there. Dreams Puerto Vallarta is now closed but you can go have dinner and drinks at Now Amber. A concierge will make the arrangements. No charge to do that but yu have to pay for the taxi both ways (about 200 pesos each way total). THe Gohan roof top bar has recorded music in the evening. To Bucerias (a small town is 15 minutes and 120 pesos) and to downtown PV is 30 minutes and 250 pesos. I would suggest Andales downtown. Plays 60's to 80's jukebox music. A real fun place.

Beer and wine only with room service. You will get 6 Coronas in your mini frig (resupplied daily). The box has an opening in the room and also in the hall. That is were you put your dirty dishes, empty bottles and the like. Delivery will be made inside your room. No charge for room service. Room service has wings, burgers, pasta, fish, soup and a few desserts. There is also a separate breakfast menu. After about midnight, the menu is smaller.

Any thing more anyone?

When we were there for the month of March the security guards were really cracking down on lounge chairs.

If you were gone from your chair more than an hour (and lots of times less) they would pack up all your belongings in a trash bag and bring them to the lobby. One morning we saw two guards bring more than 10 bags full of belongings and people were pissed. Did this happen when you were there?

Never happened once. Some days, it was 85% or more as there were several large weddings while we were there. Never a problem finding loungers or having to wait at the ala cartes.

Hi senorbobo,

Can I just say your live DVM posts were really helpful and very much appreciated in our house. My Family and I are going out mid July for a couple of weeks . Have you utilised any tour operators in the area; in particular are Vallarta Adventures any good and also do you know of any reputable Skippers/Fishing Boats specifically for Marlin fishing?

kind Regards

Hi Senorbobo,

Enjoyed reading your TR's and really looking forward to our holiday at DVM, only 15 sleeps to go!

It looks from the map that Chedrui and Wallmart stores are not far from DVM. Do you know how far they actually are and is it safe to walk to them? I like to go for a walk to break up my day and wouldn't mind walking to the stores if not too far (I have 2 dogs and walk about 6 miles a day).

Best regards

Just used Vallartaq Adventures on this last trip. Did Rythms of the NIght. Highly reccomend that tour. Nice boat ride to a seculded beach area, good food and an outstanding show, Never gone fishing there but have seen guys on the beach at Dreams offering fishing tours.

WalMart is several miles and not something to walk to in the summer heat and humidity. There is a small mall about a 30 minute walk. Paradise Mall has a grocery store, several shops, a few restaurants and a bank. There is also a casino near there. Opposite side of the street as Dreams and a block or so before the Mall.

Hope you both enjoy Dreams as much as my wife and I. Say hello to the activities crew from Bob and Barbara.
