Suggestions for a small resort in Nuevo Vallarta area?

We have stayed at the Marival Resort many times. We are tired of being attacked by the time share people upon arrival. Also, at the Marival, you have to get up before daylight to reserve a chair on the beach. We usually go the first part of Feb. Is there such a thing as a small resort on the beach where you aren't attacked by the time share people before you even receive your room key? And, or a place where chairs on the beach are plentiful? Thanks!

Right next door at Dreams Villa Magna. There are "vacation club" reps but have never bothered us. Plenty of palapas on the beach. Unlimited use of the ala cartes and no reservations needed.

Riu Palace is a smaller resort lots of beach chairs available. More of an adult type resort not a kid friendly pool but if it is just adults going it is fine and the added bonus no time share people.

We gave up on Marival when new owners took over and the time share sharks came. I Hate a resort that has them.,I avoid , same as You..LoL.

We are now addicted to the Riu Vallarta. You can click on my name, contributions, and my one review that says "Why we Return"...It has Kids pool and an Adult pool, the Riu Pacific Palace does Not.. No kids pool, big mistake IMHO. the Riu Jalisco has kids pool and Main pool, with the swim up bar.,Kids ARE allowed there.DUMB.

All three Riu have Tons of beach longers ,no problem finding one. No umbrellas,or palapas on beach, just the palm trees, but vendors rent out umbrellas.

Both would be close in price to the Marival, Palace and Dreams would cost more.

hope this helps.

Samba Vallarta .. small, not fancy, but clean, friendly resort with great service. Never had a problem getting a spot by the pool or beach. Stayed in April, 10 days and never bothered by Time Share people.

Agree with Samba Vallarta. Stayed there once, enjoyed it. Small resort atmosphere. No timeshare people and always room at the pool and palapas at the beach. Much smaller the Marivel as we have stayed there also. Samba has one pool, a main buffet and either one or two specialty restaurants.
