There were 'many' British visitors at the Royal Decameron (just a ways north of the Rui Jalisco) when we stayed at that resort a couple of years ago (in May). We made friends with one couple, and shared some friendly conversations around the pool, and a couple of dinners with them.

Should you get into the city's south-side some time during your trip, you might try to catch up with 'JRin PV' - one of the local experts on the Puerto Vallarta forum. He, other members of his Bulletin Board (which can be found via his website - 'vallarta-info(dot)com' - do sunset 'happy hours' at Cuates y Cuetes (a restaurant/bar on Los Muertos beach, right near the Pier) on Saturday eve's. JR's an 'ex-pat' from London. The board meetings are fun, and a great way to meet up with fellow travelers!!

Cheers!!

Hi Anbill

We travelled to Pacific coast last summer from England and stayed at Grand Velas in NV. There weren't many British visitors. But no problems with language, as the hotel was used to US and Canadian visitors (which was lucky as our Spanish is non-existant).

It was a long journey from England, but it is a great place. We enjoyed it so much we're going back to Grand Velas again next July.
