Hi,

Can anyone tell me will Mobile phone chargers,ipod chargers and hair straightners that are UK 240v work on the Canadian 110/120 system with the appropriate adaptor?

An adaptor simply allows you to plug your appliances into the North American-style outlet. To answer your question, you will need to check the label on your appliances to see if they say something like 110-240V. If so, then an adaptor will be fine. Otherwise, you will need a converter to convert the electricity to 240V.
