Lake Louise-Jasper?

Thinking of going on a last minute trip to Lake Louise on June 11th. Was considering staying at the Fairmont Lake Louise . We are coming from California and flying into Calgary and only have 6 days total. Any suggestions for any must see's,must do's, and eats?

When we flew in from the UK to Calgary, we took the coach to Lake Louise (have a look at SunDog or Brewster) and stayed at the Deer Lodge which is a 5min. walk from Lake Louise. It was incredible to wake up each morning with a view of the mountain literally just across the road. There is a trail up to the tea house behind the Fairmont that will give you spectacular views of the lake (it had completely thawed by 7th June 2010 but the time of the melt varies from year to year). Even if you don't make it to the top of the trail, it's worth getting up to the first viewpoint in order to see the blue water. N.B.: the first part of the trail is the steepest so don't be put off going higher.

From Lake Louise we travelled with Brewster Coaches across the Icefield Parkway to Jasper. This was a full day's journey that provided plenty of stops at picturesque lakes, waterfalls and the Athabasca Glacier. We saw a few bears along the way too.

Our itinerary also took in Banff (at the end of our holiday) before heading back to Calgary for our flight home to the UK.

If you only get to visit these 3 places in the time you have, you will have a wonderful experience.

Six days is a good length to do 1 night LL, 2 nights Jasper and 3 nights Banff. Such a beautiful region with so much to see.

when you did your tour with Brewster going from Lake Louise-Jasper did you book overnight accommodation in Jasper ...then doing a tour the next day back to Banff staying there overnight ...making your way to the Calgary airport the next day
