Well, Calgarians were wearing shorts when it was 8C and raining a few days ago. Right now it's sunny, 15C and not yet noon, so shorts will defintiely be out in force. But the usual rule is to take layers, because the weather is pretty changeable. A light fleece, because the mornings are still around 5C to 10C, a rain jacket/windbreaker, and then shorts, long pants, and t-shirts and long-sleeved shirts. Just look at the 7-day forecast and you'll see what I mean: 26C and sunny tomorrow, 12C and rain on Tuesday.

Cowboy hats and boots.

As always, bring layers on any trip just to be safe.

Thank you for your reply. It is actually the erratic weather forecast that caused the confusion. I ended up with so many bags :)
