Hi BabyDIreland;

Canada is a huge country. It is;

• approximately 9,984,670 sq. km / 3,855,103 sq mi.

• comprised of six time zones.

• over 8,000 km / 5,500 mi. wide, from Atlantic to Pacific coasts.

• only slightly smaller than all of Europe.

• almost 30% larger than Australia

• more than 3 times the size of India.

• more than 18 times the size of France.

• almost 20 times the size of Spain.

• almost 41 times the size of the UK.

• more than 142 times the size of Ireland.

What you could accomplish in one or two weeks would depend on how much of the country you wish to see and visit.

Best Regards

Baby D,

It all depends on what you want to study and what recreational activities you like, or would like to Try.

Edmonton is only a few hours from Jasper National Park in the Canadian Rockies. This area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and a great place to hike, see animals, ski, fish, etc.

In the Winter it will be much colder than you are use to in Ireland, with a couple of feet of snow not that unusual in Edmonton over the winter months.

I love travelling, but it's always nice to be back in Canada, there is so much to see and do here, that even most Candians never see it all.

I think it would be a great place to study abroad for a year. There is alot of multiculturalism.

If you were to study in Edmonton, you could head to the rockies, check out Calgary, and Drumheller.

Depending on your funds, and what type of accomodations you are willing to stay at, you could take weekend trips to places like vancouver, or longer trips to Toronto, Ottawa, Montreal.
