Unfortunately, my weather-predicting crystal ball is in the shop for some repairs. ;) So far, most of western Canada, including Jasper, is not having a stellar year for snow (probably about average here in Jasper) - however, who can predict how much snow will fall in the next six weeks? That said, however, Marmot always stays open until the 3rd week of April, and they do have snow-making in the lower area where snow cover is more likely to be getting sparse, so conditions will be "ok" at the very least. In April you have the added advantage of longer days, more sun and warmer temperatures. (Bring sunscreen!)

As for other activities, early April is not a good time for hiking - trails in the valley bottom tend to be very icy (softening during the warm/above freezing afternoons then re-freezing overnight); you will need cleats. Some of the sunnier trails may be mainly clear of snow/ice, but early season hiking usually means either snow & ice - or mud.
