Driving to Canada 1st time ever - HELP!

Our family is planning on driving up to Canada from Sacramento on Wed, the 5th and return on Monday the 10th. We have never driven such distance so don't know what to expect.

I'm a bit nervous because I don't have experience driving in the snow - and I'M THE MAIN DRIVER! Yikes!

We just heard that a huge blizzard came through. We are planning to drive up for a wedding in the family, however, considering the costs and the weather, we really don't have to go.

What do you suggest? Shall we tackle the treacherous weather and road or not?

What is your final destination point in "Canada" = it is the second largest country in the world. . . :@)

How many days each way, driving time wise, are you allowing yourselves?

You can google directions = "MAP" for turn by turn driving directions and driving times.

If you don't have to go, don't = winter starts at Portland(?). . .

We travel to B.C. at least once a year.We use to fly into Seattle and drive to Vancouver from there. The snow is the worst in higher elevations, the roads are not bad but off ramps (exits) can be.When traveling in snow just take it easy and watch out for idiots on the road. You may want to leave a day earlier just incase you have to stop because of bads weather.Peace SYOTR

FYI - the snow that fell over Vancouver is washing away. It's now raining and the roads, at least downtown, are clear.
