Places to stay Bella Bella - Shearwater

Anybody experience with http://www.dennyislandbandb.com/.

It seems there are not many places to stay in this region? Recommendations?

I can't speak to this B&B, but I've been to Shearwater Lodge several times. The lodge is the main commercial hub on Denny Island.

This area is very remote, with extremely limited amenities and access. Denny Island is a great place to go for an adventurous outdoor enthusiast or if you're looking for some serious "quiet time" away from urban centers. Fishing, wildlife viewing, bear watching and kayaking are the main activities.

Most accommodation options are listed here: dennyislandbc.ca/accommodations-denny-island…

Depending on what you're looking for, Spirit Bear Lodge in nearby Klemtu might be another option.

Note: if you are planning to visit here via ferry, be aware that the ferry service has recently changed. The Discovery Coast route has been discontinued; see the BC Ferries website for more details.

I haven't looked into it in detail, but there definitely have been significant changes to the Port Hardy to Bella Coola ferry schedule and it would be wise to investigate those changes. My understanding is that you have a choice of a direct one day ferry between PH to BC in the summer, OR you can go via Bella Bella, but you have to get off in Bella Bella and spend the night to pick up the Prince Rupert ferry to finish the trip to Port Hardy. As the OP is planning to spend some time in the area anyway, it shouldn't be a problem. Just be warned that you shouldn't be working with last year's schedule when you do your planning.

We only had 3 hours in dock at Bella Bella, but the area was just beautiful!

I'm flying in from Campbell River so transport is organised.

We are staying two nights on Denny Island before heading out with the Oceanlight 2 into the Great Bear Rainforest.
