wineries

We would like to go to a winery when we're in Penticton. Does anyone have any recommendations for which winery to go to?

hi

there are over 120 wineries between Osoyoos and Summerland. It really depends if you want to do some tasting only or if you plan on purchasing + what kind of varietals you want to look at.

There is a Wine Visitor centre beside the Arena/Curling Rink where you can do limited tasting; they have all the VQA wines there instead of driving around to purchase. The staff are good at pointing you in the correct direction based on preferences.

I lost track of wineries between Penticton and Naramata; it seems like there is a new one every time we drive out there.

This web site might give you an idea of how many wineries there are to choose from :

Over a 5-night stay in Osoyoos in June, 2013, we made 12 different winery visits in the Osoyoos/Oliver area. We did not get any further north, and felt we barely "scratched the surface" of what was available where we were staying!!

Got to some very decent wineries though (I reviewed most of the wineries we checked out), and came back with many fine wines to enjoy over the fall/winter months!!

If there's a next trip, I would like to get to a few of wineries north and west of Osoyoos.

So many to choose from, and usually such a limited time to do so!!

Lots of great choices on the Naramata Bench.

Give Poplar Grove a try.

Bottom line is everybody will have their favorite.. Just like when you walk into an ice cream shop & try to pick your mostest favorite flavor.. ( hard to do but ohhhh so much fun ! )
