I can't compare, however I did stay at Pacific Sands for several days quite a number of years ago. From what I've heard from others in more recent years, it still sounds more-or-less the same. The setting was spectacular, the unit (small condo-like) was comfortable and bright with a nice view, the location was convenient for day-tripping the area, there wasn't much in the way of resort-style facilities, however the unit had an equipped kitchen, etc.
Long Beach Resort is continually rated high among travellers--it is a very nice place to stay--maybe check to see if you have ocean view rooms in one or the other.
They both have an excellent reputation. I don't think you would go wrong to choose either place.
Long Beach Lodge has a fabulous (I mean fabulous) restaurant on-site. Pacific sands has fully equipped kitchens in all units. They also have a pre-made meal delivery service where you can reheat the meal in your own kitchen.
Wherever you stay, get an ocean view room.
Darla ~ it's generally not a good idea to post a new question on an existing thread. The OP will get notification of activity on the thread to find the post does not address their question. And you are invisible down here at #6.
The "ask a question" button on an open page like this one is way down under the reply box.
