Float plane tours from Vancouver

I would like to do a float plane tour from Vanouver to Victoria, returning by ferry, when we are there in early september. I have found a couple of companies West Coats Air and Harbour Air. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of either of these companies? Also any recommendations on tours other than Victoria.

The flights are short and spectacular-a friend of mine flew for Harbour Air for a number of years.

Harbour Air is great.. check to see if they still do the trip to Princess Louisa Inlet.. they used to offer it as an excursion and it was fantastic. Havel also flown helijet it's exciting but I think too noisy and not as good a view.

Both are good companies. They operate year round hauling business folks between the two towns and they ramp up the tours/charter business in the summer.

I am looking at the float plane tour Vancouver to Victoria when in Vancouver next year, May 09. Anyone have any updates from last year or more recent trips involving the companies who operate such tours. Up to date advice would be appreciated.

Both Harbour Air and West Coast Air are good. They are located side by side in Vancouver and in Victoria. Harbour Air also flies in and out of Richmond (10 minute away from the airport).

Harbour Air uses single engine Otters - seats 12

West Coast Air uses twin engine Otters - seats 16

The only difference that I notice is that the twin engines are louder and are slightly larger so if you have a fear of flying in a small plane go with West Coast Air.

I fly with both, but tend to use Harbour Air more often as I like the smaller plane. Because there's only one pilot on the single otters, you can try to ride shotgun.

Luggage allowance is 20 lbs per person. If you are traveling with luggage, you can have the excess shipped in advance or on the next available flight.

Both companies have a courtesy van in Vancouver to drop you off at any downtown hotel.
