Wedgewood or Loden? My head is spinning!

I've done my homework and researched forum opinions on both hotels ... but wasn't able to find too much that was current. The "opening specials" at the relatively new Loden are in the US$360+ range whereas I've found much better rates at the Wedgewood Hotel and Spa US$175. Quite a difference for two hotels that both come so highly rated!

Anyone care to jump in with some thoughts/advice?

Both hotels are fantastic and in equally good locations. The Loden is quite new and closer to the west side of Vancouver with Stanley Park and Robson St right there.

However Vancouver is not that big and you can easily walk everwhere. The Wedgewood is a great hotel close to Pacific Centre and the Art Gallery.

You find great restaurants around both of them, however I think the Loden has a slightly better view.

Based on the price, take the Wedgewood, you won't be disappointed.

suggest you call 1-800-hello-bc and see if they have a better rate on either of those hotels. They sometime can surprise you either way.

Loden has introductory rates of $177 (Expedia)Wedgewood is better located but Loden is new. You have a tough decision but can't lose either way.

Thanks to all! It appears that it's a win/win situation so now we're off to trying to find the best "deal." I appreciate your tips on how to do so.

We are really looking forward to this trip ... not just based on what we've read and heard ... but based on how willing everyone is to share their BC advice and experiences. How can we go wrong when everyone is so positive about BC?

If you can get the Loden at the intro rate (under 200.00) go there otherwise the Wedgewood (one of Vancouver's "classy" hotels) will not go wrong. Both will pamper you.

Enjoy your time in Vancouver!

Noel
