Blue Horizon, Sunset Inn and Suites or Century Plaza Hotel?

Will be visiting Vancouver for the first time in a few weeks and was wondering which of the 3 hotels is the nicest. We have a 3 year old and will be taking her to Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium and Granville Island. We will request a room on a higher floor so we can have a nice view but can't really tell what there is to see on a map. Does anyone have any advice on which they prefer? We are hoping the weather will be nice so we can spend most of our time outdoors sight seeing, going to the beach, biking, etc...Also can anyone recommend a good place to rent bicycles?

Thanks much!

There are so many bike rental places. Denman and Georgia streets have three and other folks will have favourites but that's a good place to start. Your hotels are all middle of the road hotels with Blue Horizon likely to be closest to what you described although odds are against the view.

Thanks for the bike rental tips! Yes, we're not looking to spend too much on a hotel since we will be out and about exploring the city. We basically need a nice place to sleep that's not too expensive.

Of the three ... the Blue Horizon is probably the most recently updated. It's in a busy, shopping district (Robson Street) with lots of restaurants and shops. Century Plaza is also on a busy street, but with less immediately available. There's still lots around, it's just not as vibrant as Robson Street. The Sunset Inn & Suites is in more of a neighbourhood and their rooms are all suites, which might be nice with a three year old. You can put your daughter to bed in the bedroom and still be up without waking her. The Sunset Inn is also closer to the beach and is in a nice location for taking walks ... also lots of restaurants. You're still close to Stanley Park and the Aquarium ... and closer to Granville Island. I'd recommend the Sunset Inn & Suites. Have a great trip!

I stayed at the Blue Horizon and found it to be very nice. Each room was a corner room and had a little balcony. There was a lot to do and the sightseeing trolley was right out side!

Just an FYI depending on the length that you are staying, the Landis Hotel & Suites has two bedroom suites and some higher floors, all two bedroom suites with full kitchen and it looks like their prices are fairly similar (especially if u are AAA member) continental breakfast too... just a thought. I really like Spokes bike rentals on Denman! Enjoy your trip.

Otherwise pick Blue Horizon

I ended up booking at the Sunset Inn and Suites for the location, free parking, free breakfast and free wifi. We wanted to be close to the beach and Stanley Park too. Let's just hope the weather is warm and sunny :) Thx all for your suggestions! Looking forward to checking out Vancouver. It looks like a beautiful city!
