Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre

Two of us will be staying for four to five days in Sheraton Vancouver Wall Centre, 1088 Burrard Street,

Any suggestions with food or sightseeing? We will have a car. We are both in our mid 40 and want to splurge maybe couple of times but we won't appreciate affordable decent bite suggestions for other occasions. Is there anything that we absolutely have to see or do while we are in Vancouver? Absolute must see or do...for example something like High Tea at Empress hotel or Bush Gardens in Victoria, BC. Would highly appreciate any suggestions. Thanks a lot in advance.

Heading over the Granville Island is always a really nice way to spend an afternoon. There you can always get some nice cheese, wine, breads, fresh meats and veggies for a picnic or to bring back to your room.

Grouse Mountain is of course a must in my eyes! I love it up there personally!

Check some of the other threads on here for restaurant recommendations. There are just SO many great places to eat in Vancouver. What kind of foods do you like?

You must try a Japadog while you are here... true Vancouver original!

Google whichever restaurant appeals to you. These are all located downtown. Some are further from your hotel than others though.

*Guu Izakaya

1698 Robson St

Vancouver, BC

Japanese cooked foods/tapas. Small plates but great for trying a variety of food. It's my favorite Japanese restaurant! (The one on Robson is the best, 2nd place goes to the Gastown location)

*Chambar

562 Beatty Street

Vancouver, BC

Tel: (604) 879-7119

Chambar is a stylish and hip restaurant downtown that offers Belgian cuisine in a fun and lively atmosphere.

*Alpha Global Sushi & Bar

1099 Richards St

Vancouver, BC

(604) 633-0355

Japanese raw food. Very fresh and delicious

*Amarcord Restaurant

1168 Hamilton Street, #104

Vancouver, BC

Tel: (604) 681-6500

Authentic Northern Italian cuisine with full bar and extensive wine list. Maximum 65 seats, air conditioned, wheelchair entrance, full menu, large seafood selection, steaks, veal, risotto, gnocchi speciality, large choice of appetizers, soups, salads. Elegant, cozy, unpretentious ambience.

*Rodney's Oyster House

1228 Hamilton Street

Vancouver, BC

Tel: (604) 609-0080

Oyster Bar in Vancouver's trendy Yaletown. Try their halibut, it is amazing!

*Gotham Steakhouse & Cocktail Bar

615 Seymour Street

Vancouver, BC

Tel: (604) 605-8282

Gotham Steakhouse is a high-end American steakhouse serving the finest Canadian Prime beef.

*Gallery Cafe and Catering

750 Hornby Street

Vancouver, BC

Tel: (604) 688-2233

Gallery Cafe is nestled inside the Vancouver Art Gallery and offers big salads, quiche, and sandwichs. This place only serves lunch, but I love sitting outside on the terrace under the sun, classical music in the background and people watching.

Have a good time in Vancouver!
