Rocky mountaineer strikes

I have been watching this forum and am filled with dread. We are booked on the Rocky Mountaineer on the 23rd -24th August, Vancover to Jasper. Are there any strikes planned for these days.

I am very concerned by all the negative reviews too. We are on Hold leaf service and were hoping to emulate the experience of the Orient Express London to Venice we experienced last year which was superb.

Hi MaLi610;

I would suggest that you familiarize yourself with the posting guidelines regarding the participation of business representatives. You are required to identify yourself in your posts.

Mali610. Rather than me email you, thus disclosing my private email address would it not be more appropriate to send a message to me via Tripadvisor?

RT, MaLi610 clearly identified him/herself as a manager at RMRT. The guidelines say "If you'd like to participate in a discussion related to your business or a competitor's business, we ask that you clearly state your affiliation as a representative." I don't think they are required to give name, rank and serial number. ;-)

Hi krp329;

Actually, they are required to post their name.

"If you'd like to participate in a discussion related to your business or a competitor's business, we ask that you clearly state your affiliation as a representative."

It then goes on to state;

"Our members are entitled to this information so that they can be aware of any potential bias in your comments. A simple statement like, "Hi, I'm John from XYZ Tours," is sufficient disclosure."

I would say the RM rep has not done the best job of identifying him/herself. I could post that and no one would be the wiser. I agree with RT, a real name and position is what TA is asking, IMO.

slj60. On the RM website, there will be a contact us link for members of the public to use. It may be feedback@..... or something else. There would be no way to identify you specifically, unless you refer to TA and your post here, as there will be a number of people doing the same thing. As a member of the general public you would be quite anonymous emailing any contact us link on the RM website and making enquiries about your plans. That would probably be the way to go.
