Cheap seafood in Vancouver

Hi- Headed to Vancouver for 3 nights this weekend and have never been there before. Lookinf for a place to get inexpensive local seafood for dinner or lunch....any recomendations? Staying at the Renascaince Harbourside but we'll have a car and can drive anywhere if it's too far to walk. Also any recommendations for where to go? What to do? Look forward to hearing back...Thanks, -A.F.

Hi Traveler400

To me the terminology cheap seafood is an oxymoron.Vancouver has some fabulous restaurants but cheap seafood is hard to comeby.Maybe someone out there may know of some small cafes or something. There used to be a great little cafe at Campbell Ave dock but it is long gone. The Only Seafood Cafe on Hastings but you are in a shady area.Hopefully someone can be of more help

Vancouver is heaving with restaurants of all kinds for every budget.

For a fabulous lunch try

Go Fish Ocean Emporium

False Creek Fishermen’s Wharf

1505 West 1st Avenue

Sushi places abound

Aoki Sushi

1888 W. Broadway St, Vancouver

Tel: 604-731-5577

is an authentic Japanese restaurant not at all expensive.

However as mentioned there are no bargain basement seafood places here-it's an expensive foodstuff and while widely available never deep discounted.

Beware the numerous 'all you can cram down' sushi bars-some very dodgy operations.

Go to http://www.fishhousestanleypark.com/ and click the coupon link. That will save you $10-20 for 2 people.
