What can we do in Vancouver BC for 3 days in April

The two of us would like to drive up from Portland, OR to Vancouver BC. We would leave Portland April 5 evening and start driving back to Portland April 8 afternoon. We like to do active things like snowboarding, kayaking, hiking, etc. One of us is pregnant though so we have to keep that in consideration.

Do you guys have any suggestions on what to do? Is the suspension bridge open that early in the year?

Thanks.

Both Capilano Suspension Bridge ($30 per person) and Lynn Canyon Park's suspension bridge (free) are open year round.

Snowboarding can be done a 2 hour drive north in Whistler, or at the local mountains: Cypress, Seymour or Grouse only a 20 minute drive from downtown Vancouver. I imagine April's nearing the end of the season for the local mountains, however, but you'll want to check their websites.

Kayaking can be done right in the heart of Vancouver from Granville Island or in North Vancouver's Deep Cove (a 30 minute drive from downtown). Another idea is to drive to Horseshoe Bay (30 minutes from downtown), walk on the ferry to Bowen Island, and go kayaking in Howe Sound with Bowen Island Kayaking.

Hiking can be done everywhere: www.vancouvertrails.com is an amazing resource.

Wow so many suggestions! Thanks a lot everyone.

It's a bummer one of us is pregnant so we can't go snowboarding. But it looks like we'll have plenty to keep us busy up in Vancouver.

Go to the Bloedel Conservatory which is located in Queen Elizabeth Park. The admission is very reasonable and the place is a tropical paradise filled with exotic plants and amazing birds! Rain or shine...it is one of Vancouver's best treasures!
