Bus - which stop on the 250

Another 'bus' enquiry please. Does the 250 bus from Vancouver to Horseshoe Bay stop close enough for us to walk to Lighthouse Park and Whytecliff Park, and if so could you tell us which 'stops' we would want.

Many thanks

The bus driver should be willing to call your stops for you if you chat with him/her when you board. Just sit near the front so you can hear them call it out for you. They are usually willing to help you out like that.

The stop for Lighthouse Park is on the main road, so its probably about a km down a very pleasant road to the park entrance.

Google streetview is a very helpful resource for this sort of question.

Hi Joy ~

All the busses have public announcement systems now for the stops. Sally Robot says the name of each stop in advance of when you need to ring the bell. Also, the name lights up in LED lights in the aisle, front and center. You want to get off at Beacon Lane, quite à propos for a road to the lighthouse. The stop before Beacon Lane is The Dale, before that is McKenzie Dr, before that is Piccadilly. You will need exact fare in change for the bus.

Be a bit careful crossing Marine Drive to enter the park. This crossing is on a bit of a blind curve for the east-west traffic. When you come back to Marine Drive the east bound bus stop will be near the same corner.

Here's the bus route, zoom in and drag around as you please. Click on satellite view to see the lay of the land.

When I use the West Van buses to and from Horseshoe Bay to Vancouver I have yet to see this announcement feature.
