I'm travelling to Vancouver the 1st week of September in a party of 6 (we're in our 40's, our parents are mid-60's).
We are arriving via Royal Caribbean cruise ship on a Friday morning / flying home early Monday morning.
Looking for suggestions for an 3-day itinerary of the area that makes sense and gives us a good taste of the area. This is the 1st trip there for all of us.
This is the itineray I was thinking of (assuming good weather).
The challenge is figuring out when to pick up a rental car (would make sense to grab one near the airport considering we'd need to drive there on day of departure), or if we should bother renting at all (we'd only be doing so for a day trip to Whistler)
Also not the biggest fan of sleeping in the most densely populated areas, but will do so if it makes sense:
1) Day 1 (Friday):
---> arrive at ferry terminal
---> grab hotel downtown / no car (was looking at Robsonstrasse on Robson)
---> Stanley Park AM (is it worth visiting the aquarium there?)
---> Late lunch / shopping on Robson Street
---> Grouse Mountain PM (worth a visit? can we get there without a car?)
2) Day 2 (Saturday)
---> Granville Market AM
---> Museum of Anthropology (although would rather be outside if nice out)
---> ??? PM
---> sleep in downtown again, or on Granville Island (?)
3) Day 3 (Sunday)
---> Sleep in Granville Island (so we're closer to airport Mon morning)?
Thanks for your help in advance!
