Airport to Bayshore Inn

Hello....Another airport transport question! There are 4 of us plus 4 pieces of luggage needing to get from the airport (coming from the US) to The Bayshore Inn. Thought a limo might work...but so would a cab if there are some (know there should be) that would hold us and all our stuff. We will be there on a Monday about 3 pm. Seems only 1 limo company Is 'allowed' to service the airport and has a set rate for trip...(their ad did not instill confidence) which is more than the cab is estimated to be (got this from airport website)....my question is which one would be better at that time of day....eg. Is rush hr. a factor that would make the cab's fare go up alot because of sitting in traffic? Any info or advice would be greatly appreciated. Btw...there is no super shuttle type service and the hotel has no shuttle. Thanks for any help!

If cost is a concern, then you do have the option of using Canada Line (rapid transit train) to Waterfront Station, where you will be able to pick up a cab as its around the corner from the cruise terminal.

Rush hour will be going the other way, so while there will be some congestion, you will be moving against it for the most part.

I would take a cab and get to the hotel "just" before rush starts.

You walk out the glass exit doors of the international terminal to find the taxi rank right there. There will be an attendant who will quickly see you need a minivan and get one up for you. Easy peasy.

You won't have any trouble heading into town from the airport. You may have some congestion if the driver turns west on Georgia St for the last km of the way as Georgia is a road that empties the city to the North Shore. Probably would be better to turn west on Dunsmuir, but the cabbie will know that.

You will need up to an hour to come through Canadian Customs and your plane will of course arrive on time. So make that 4h00 for the cab. You will see a bit of delay once you are in the city, but I really think you will be just just just ahead of the 5h00 office let out. It would cost you probably about $35-45.

There is nothing wrong with Aerocar, the limo service from the airport.

Rush hour here is roughly 3-6 pm so if you take a taxi it will be a bit busy especially with the traffic trying to get onto the Lions Gate Bridge. With 4 people you might as well just take a taxi van as the cost of the Canada Line will be around the same cost.
