Vancouver hotels

We will be flying into Vancouver international airport and would like to find a hotel with shuttle service from the airport. The next day we will need transportation to the port at canada place for a cruise. Where would you suggest we stay and what transportation to take?

Any hotel/motel near the airport most of them have shuttles back to the airport and then you can take public transportation called the Canada Line.

The title is Vancouver Hotel"...not Richmond hotel.

Patt....take the Canada Line rail line or a cab downtown.

There are countless downtown hotels that you can stay at and walk to Canada Place.

Hi Patt, welcome to the forum ~

No Vancouver hotels provide shuttle service from the airport. Canada Line takes 26 minutes to get downtown. It is spacious, convenient, built for luggage and people. A taxi will run you between $33-38.

Please look in the Top Questions to the right of this page and look under TRANSPORT. There you will find an article called "How do I get downtown from the airport?" and "Is my hotel close to the Canada Line?"

The downtown city centre is very convenient for getting to Canada Place. About $10-14 taxi fare, so staying anywhere you like in the downtown area is fine. Not sure what your budget range is, or when you will be coming, but have a look at the St. Regis.

Hotels that do have shuttle service locally, meaning around downtown including the cruise ship piers are:

Best Western on Drake St.

Hampton Inn and Suites

Loden

Executive Hotel Vintage Park (scheduled 10h30 am - 1 pm)

All the Vancouver Airport hotels are in the city of Richmond, which is across the Fraser River from Vancouver. All of them have free shuttles from the airport to the hotel. However, none of them offer free shuttles into downtown Vancouver or to the cruise ship terminal. Some of them, like the Radisson Vancouver Airport, the River Rock Casino Resort Hotel, and the Fairmont Vancouver Airport are connected to the Canada Line, which is a rapid transit line that heads directly to Canada Place, where the cruise ship terminal is located. Your real only other option for transportation is to rely upon taxis.

The benefit to staying at an airport hotel is that you get the free shuttle from the airport, and on average, the hotel rates would be cheaper than staying downtown. The downside is that if you wish to experience Vancouver, you'd have to drive 20 minutes to get there.

FWIW-there is one hotel in Vancouver that provides an airport shuttle-Super 8 @ Fraser St & Marine Drive.
