Japanese Shopping

I heard that there is a lot of Japanese items in Vancouver, but searching online don't know exactly where to go in Vancouver for this. I am looking for clothes and knickknacks!

There's the Daiso, a Japanese department store at Aberdeen Centre in Richmond, which is easy to get to from Vancouver. There are other Asian stores there in that mall, many from Hong Kong, Taiwanese, etc. but I don't know about Japanese specific stores. Next door to Aberdeen Centre is Parker Place Mall, which has Asian clothing stores too. Across the street from Aberdeen is Yaohan Centre where there's Osaka Market - they have Japanese food there, and a few Asian clothing stores. This is where you'll probably want to spend a few hours for shopping. All you have to do is take the Canada Line and hop on the south-bound train to Richmond/Brighouse (*not* YVR Airport)... and then get off at Aberdeen Station, and all these malls will be within walking distance:

Thank you all your suggestions sound awesome! Richmond seems like the place to check out! It doesn't really have to be Japanese, really anything eastern asia would be cool. I wanted to check out chinatown, but there are some really negative reviews online since it seems rampant with homelessness...

How about one of the night markets, then? Both are in Richmond, and both may be referred to as 'the Richmond Night Market', though one is called "the Summer Night Market". They have almost identical food and products. Lots of cheap cute items like stationery, cell phone covers, socks, etc. Also weird electronic gadgets, fake samurai swords, etc. Bring cash for snacks.

The Richmond Night Market is easier to access via transit, and is a bit bigger, but is more crowded and charges a 2.25 admission.

The Summer Night Market is easy to park at via River Rd behind Home Depot, and has no admission fee, but is a bit smaller.

Chinatown isn't necessarily 'rampant with homelessness' or to be avoided, but it's not the Chinese commercial centre it once was. Richmond is.

Hi NBN N. The night markets in Richmond are definitely an interesting shopping (and eating!) experience. Keep in mind that these are on weekend nights only.
