Hotel in Vancouver!?

Hi. We are getting into Vancouver on 21st September for 6 nights. Looking at the hotels, we can get the:-

Shangri La for about £200/night ($350),

Rosewood Georgia for £210/night,

Fairmont Waterfront for £173/night,

Hotel Blu for £134,

Westin Grand for £160,

Hyatt for £128,

Westin Bayshore for £150

Fairmont Hotel Vancouver for £141.

Can anyone recommend any of these, or advise against any of these - as we try to narrow down our options???

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks

Carl

In order: 1& 2 are top notch high end centrally located gems. Edge goes to #2

#3 is good steady 4 star business hotel located close to sea wall and waterfront activity.

#4 and #5 are closer to Yaletown with #5 more of a business hotel

#6 is located between #1 and #2 in location and always a solid steady offering for the price. #7 is close to Stanley park so a bit of a walk to town but is unique as a waterfront resort within a city. #8 is a 75 year old grand dame of hotels.

All your choices are good ones. Look at YouTube for each of them to help a final decision. My pick from your list if luxury is the objective is #2 then #1. #7 for resort feeling. #6 for value without giving up location. You can double check rates with Trivago for your dates.

Yeah I've used trivago and trip advisor to search for prices. Shangri La is about 350 bucks a night. Are there any better hotel search sites?

Yeah I've tried that too. Over 350 dollars a night on there. The best value seems to be either Hotel Blu, the Hyatt Regency or Fairmont Hotel Vancouver. Any 1 better than the other?

We are getting mixed messages. Luxury vrs price. The least expensive on your list are totally fine. Blu is only a few months old and shares a high rise with residential suites. It is in the Yaletown/Stadium area and a 15 minute walk from the Hyatt/Fairmont Vancouver. Contrast Blu with the iconic granite Fairmont Vancouver with its sweeping common areas. Hyatt is always steady. Your list is a good one, any will be fine. Luxury or price? Need a push? Take the Bayshore.

<<We're going for the bayshore!!>>

Excellent choice-we just returned from a week's stay there-great hotel, wonderful service, great location on the sea wall-view of the bay and Stanley park. There are several fine restaurants nearby. Try to get an upgrade to a room on the Tower with bay-Stanley park. The tower is newer and the rooms are a little bigger. Are you a member of SPG-if not, join it on-line, it is free, you get points and other benefits.

Great. Thank you. Yeah I'm an SBG member. If you could recommend some great restaurants worth going to that would be great. We like pretty much everthing - seafood, Asian, sushi, steakhouse, Italian.
