Any recommendation on a 10 day trip to Vancouver Island in late August. I plan to start and finish the trip in Vancouver. My interest include, Photography, Kayaking, Hiking and Fishing.
I plan to spend a day or two with friends near Duncan... Was thinking 3 days staying at Tofino, and visiting the Pacific Rim National Park. Would like to do some hiking and kayaking while there.
Also thinking 2-3 days at Campbell Rive. Hope to do some more Kayaking there.
That also leaves a couple days with little planned.
Is there any other places which are just as nice as Campbell River but more of the beaten path?
I love fishing, but the license costs and time constraints would likely limit me to only freshwater fishing. (Would love to try surfcasting there, just to see if its really a complete of waste of time) Have read these decent Bass fishing near Duncan. I hope to target species which I can not chase at home (so excludes Rainbow trout, Brown trout and Salmon). In saying that, I probably would still target Salmon because they are such a Iconic species for Canada.
