good food, reasonable prices, walking distance from downtown?

Hi,

Would love suggestions for my dads 80th birthday celebration this month (May). I am arriving by bus to the downtown terminal so would like to find a restaraunt fairly close. We are leaning towards lunch as the cost is less prohibitive for us.

Can anyone suggest a nice place?

My dad isn't too fancy but I'd like to take him somewhere other than the local pub!

Any suggestions would be great. They like most foods but don't like a spot that is too busy/noisy/crowded.

Thank you so much.

My favorite place is the Benal Room in the Empress Hotel. They have a fabulous curry buffet every day ($28 at lunch) as well as menu food (fish & chips, etc.) The bus terminal is immediately behind the Empress so very easy walking distance.

Hi,

Bengal Room would be a wonderful option, or take a look at Vista 18 (I've attached the website) for a place with the most amazing views of Victoria.

Most of the restaurants downtown will be within walking distance of the bus terminal.

And fancy or not, a lot of our pubs have great food at good prices!

A great spot for lunch that I like is Zambri's, an owner operated Italian restaurant about an 8 minute walk from the bus depot. Fantastic food, staff and atmosphere, and good prices too!
