Best Western Plus or Grand Pacific Hotel?

Reserving for two nights next July. Prices are pretty even. Looks like both are close to the Clipper Ferry and the Pacific Coach terminal to catch our transfer to Vancouver.

One difference is that the Best Western does not have air conditioning and it looks like temps in July can certainly be in the 30+ degree celsius range.

Any thoughts about these two hotels? Is a/c a necessity?

Victoria temps in July are rarely in the 30's. Homes with air conditioning in Victoria are extremely rare.

Go with the Grand Pacific.

Both hotels are on the same street. BW Inner Harbour fronts on Quebec and the back door to Grand Pacific is on Quebec. The quality of the lobby for Grand Pacific is way better than BW Inner Harbour. The BW rooms have been upgraded in the last 2 years. BW includes a breakfast and free wifi and kitchenette with micro. I have not stayed at Grand Pacific because the price were always higher using AAA rates; but have walked thru the lobby more than once when it was raining/drizzling. All my friends that we visit do not have A/C because it cools down quite a bit a night.

Thanks.....both get great reviews and both GPH and BW discount the normal 10% for AAA/AARP.

I booked a harbor view room at the GPH and a regular room at the BW and the GPH was only $4 more a night......still the BW does provide breakfast. As for wi-fi the GPH site is a little contradictory. It lists complimentary with a footnote of $9.95 (might be a higher speed service for an additional fee.)

We've stayed at the Grand Pacific and loved it. Rooms are beautiful and spacious. The indoor pool also provides a great way to relax and unwind after a day of sightseeing.
