four seasons pool question

From the photos, it looks like the pool is plopped right

next to the parking lot. It looks really uninviting.

Can anyone comment on this? Seems like the Fairmont

has a much nicer outdoor area......

Not the parking lot but right next to the street (Blackcomb Way). It's seperated by a wooden fence and some trees/bushes. You can hear the cars drive by. You can't see people are traffic outside the unless they really tried to stop and look through the cracks between the fencing. The fencing is tall enough but you can still see the tops of the cabana and patio table umbrellas.

The Fairmont Pool faces the side of Blackcomb Mountain. Though you don't get the exhaust or noise from the traffic, there is no screen fencing around the pool area, which means anyone who walks by can see you, so a bit limited on the privacy. There is a small inside pool that leads to the outside pool.

Unless you are spending your days by the pool it's only a small point as the guest rooms at the Four Seasons are far better than the Fairmont, especially if the room rates are similar.

If you do decide to go with the Chateau perhaps look at upgrading to the Fairmont Gold rooms. They are smaller than the standard ones at the Four Seasons, but it does include complimentary continental breakfast, appetizers between 4:00 and 6:00 pm, non alcoholic beverages, coffee, tea and cookies. Not sure what the upgrade price is so it may or it may not be worth it.
