Luxury Moutian Biking June 09

Hi, I am thinking about a mountain bike trip in early June and would greatly appreciate some advice.

Is the Four Seasons the best luxury place to stay or should I consider others?

I would prefer something either in the Village or close by. Travelling by myself so I am thinking access to the village would be a good idea for dining, etc. Correct me if I am wrong.

Can anyone recommend any bike (day) tour companies that do guided tours of local trails?

Last but not least. Is there any good coffee in Whistler?

Thanks for any thoughts.

Hi Sydney888,

Four Seasons is one of the luxury hotels in Whistler, it is located at Blackcomb Base, still walking distance to the Village, but not right in the middle.

Consider Pan Pacific Mountain Sidde (not PP Whistler Village), this is one of the other luxury hotels but right on the base of Whistler, having a view of all the mountainbikers coming down Whistler Mountain. Being on your own, this hotel might be your best option, location is lively.

On that plaza you find good patio's for after drinks, like Blacks Pub, Longhorn , DublinnGate, GLC. Restaurants all within a stroll fron the hotel.

You can do downhill mountain biking on Whistler, they do rentals and also lessens. www.whistler-blackcomb.com

or you an mountain bike in the valley on trails. Reliable local company that does rentals and tours is cross country commection.

Most trails you can also find and do on your own.

Good coffee is all around town, 3 Starbucks, but also local stores who are actually much better!

PLease let me know if you need more info.

Have fun !

Thank you everyone! You have inspired me to watch my local (Sydney) forum and see if I can contribute.

About the coffee - are there any places you can recommend for Italian style espresso (kind of the opposite of Starbucks!).

Will investigate the info and either ask more questions or report when I come back from the trip.

Thanks again.

sydney888,

I was at Whistler for a day trip in mid-June last year. Mountain bikes there were like flies we have here. Bl**dy everywhere! :)
