air canada luggage

we are travelling to whistler this winter and are a little concerned on baggage allowances / sizes etc. Does anyone know what weight a 100 litre bag will come out at - is this going to cost us a fortune in excess baggage fees?

Hi stuandsu;

Will that be 100 litres of feathers or 100 litres of lead ? Respectfully, there is no way to answer your question, as it will all depend on what you pack !

Welcome to the Whistler forum.

I would check directly with Air Canada on what the restrictions are for overseas flights. This may help.

aircanada.com/en/…index.html

aircanada.com/en/…checked.html

aircanada.com/en/…sports_equip.html

We often travel Air Canada with one suitcase and golf clubs (I presume you are substituting skis for clubs) each at no charge but I'm not really sure if this would apply internationaly. Baggage charges that I am aware of are based on weight not size.

Hope this is helpful.

No one can give you an accurate answer when you don't state what kind of ticket you've purchased.

The links that luv2travelnow @ #2 gave you have all the information you require to check it out yourself.

Have fun.

actually it's more volume than weight, subject to maximum weight restriction of 70lbs. An extra piece that weighs 2 lbs is going to cost the same as one that weighs 70lbs.

Overweight Between 23-32kg (50-70lb) $100 CAD

Oversized Between 160-292cm (63-115in) $100 CAD

If a bag is both overweight and oversized, the fee is charged only once.

That may not be accurate, bibimbob. Until the OPer says which class of ticket they purchased there is no way to predict fees. AC has several classes of tickets that allow 32 kg/70 lb luggage without penalty.

Cheers,

Terry
