Hotel in Whistler village with young kids

Hi!

We will be traveling to Whistler for the first time with young kids (1&3) and would like to stay in a village so we are close to everything.

Any recommendations on a place to stay that would be especially kid friendly? They will probably spend more time indoors.

Also, anyone tried babysitting services in Whistler?

Thanks!

Hi Marie here at Tourism Whistler

You will find all accommodations in Whistler Village are kid friendly. You may want to go with a hotel or condo that offers a kitchen. As for suggestions, it really depends on your budget.

There are two babysitting companies in Whistler - Nanny On Call and Babysitting Whistler. Both are great - I have personally used them! Make sure you make reservations in advance, especially if you are travelling over the Holidays.

Also, I highly recommend Babys on the Go. They can deliver any baby equipment to your room from a stroller to a box of toys. It can save the hassle of packing up everything.

This is an excellent site for kids friendly things to do in Whistler http://www.whistler4kids.com/

I recommend you stay at Whistler Village or Village North but not the Upper Village. Most of the activity is at the first two and they interconnect over a short bridge while the north is a long walk on a slope. Otherwise, all hotels are kid friendly.

Probably a little outside the main village would be better, just because of the late night party noise from the bars and clubs.

Don't rule out the Upper Village, its only a 10 minute walk from the main village and its not really on much of a slope. If you stayed at Fairmont Chateau or our favourite the Four Seasons they have s free shuttle bus running every 15 mins too. As Vancouverite67 says its nice and quiet up there at night too.

We've traveled to Whistler several times, and last year took our 4-year-old for her first skiing experience. We stayed in the Pan Pacific Whistler Mountainside, which is an excellent choice for families. The rooms are set up well for families - particularly the nicely appointed kitchens, dining areas, and nice sized bathrooms, and the hotel staff stopped by each night with milk and cookies for our daughter. The hotel is in the main village, right next to the slopes and with easy access to almost anything you might need.
