Best green runs or easy blue runs on Blackcomb?

To avoid crowds tomorrow we thought we would take the family to Blackcomb rather than whistler. But are there any easy runs for our 7 year old who is a beginner. He can do blue but prefers cruising on green.

The easy out route all the way down Blackcomb is very enjoyable for beginners and people a little more experienced. It does have its trickier parts.

Expressway and 7th Heaven are very good for cruising – very gentle.

If you take the Wizard Express Chair & solar Coaster Chair to Rendezvous you can ski down Express Way, which is a gentle run down to 7th Heaven Express and ride to the top. The views are fantastic and there is a lovely Green Run "Green Line" back to Rendezvous. You can then take Expressway to Easy Out to Green Line all the way to the bottom - all on Green Runs. Have a great day!

p.s. Ridge Runner and Rock & Roll are great Blues, althouh with some steep sections.

As the others have said, follow the easy route down which winds it's way back and forth across the the mountain all the way to the bottom.

If you get part way down and feel you need something more challenging, there are many more intersections on Blackcomb than Whistler which you can divert onto one of the other blue runs.

I always find that at seat in Merlins at the bottom with a pitcher of beer is a good incentive to get down quicker!!

All of those green runs mentioned above are actually Cat Tracks (or roads), except for a small portion of Easy Out. They are technically the easiest way down, but only you know if your son does okay on those narrow roads. Also, they will be crowded. I don't think there is any avoiding crowds at any ski resort during Xmas break, unless you are good enough to get way off the beaten path. Groomed green or blue runs=the most crowded, always.

Would not recommend any of the Cat track runs on Blackcomb. Tight, congested, and usually not that fun. Hit the Blues. Note that both mountains have good vertical...just don't freak out
