Whistler in Early October - Planning help needed

We will be traveling to Whistler for the first time in early October for 3 days - Newly wed. Any suggestions on what we should not miss? Any hints and hazards for the Fall season in this resort town? .

Hi travelnotebook, welcome to the forum ~

The Peak to Peak gondola will operate weekends only from Sept 22 to Oct 13.

Your first stop should be to the green menu bar up top to browse the Things to Do. And to the right of the page, you will find Top Questions with good information for visitors.

What are your interests? Knowing that would help make suggestions that would suit the two of you.

Please note the PEAK 2 PEAK gondola last day of operation for the summer is September 21.

The Whistler Village Gondola remains open Saturday and Sunday only 10am-5pm and Holiday Mon Oct 13.

Early October can be a wonderful time to visit. The last 2 years have seen lots of sunshine.

Lots to do - the bike park and golf courses remain open until October 13th. Ziplining, ATV tours, Scandinave Spa, Squamish Lil'wat Cultural Centre are must do. A great time to hike if the weather is good. You will be able to hike on Whistler Mountain on the weekends. -Marie

It seems to be confusing to use "Peak2Peak Alpine experience" with certain operating dates under the summer tab on the following web page and then the same wording "Peak2Peak Alpine experience" under the tab that says Peak2Peak.

whistlerblackcomb.com/the-mountain/hours-of-…

How is anyone reading the website from England, Germany or even Vancouver, supposed to know the nuance of that. The new website design in general though is much more easy to read than it was.

We hear several different closing dates on the Peak 2 Peak- Latest from the box office is that the closing date of Sept. 21 is not confirmed this year and it may be open weekends through early October.

Thanks, every one for helping us with our planning.

Last day for PEAK 2 PEAK Gondola is confirmed 100% for September 21. It is closing earlier this year for maintenance,

Whistler Village Gondola will be open on weekends from Sept 22-Oct 13. So you can still access hiking on Whistler Mountain during this time.
