Family camping between Winnipeg and Calgary

Hi there,

I'd like any advice people might have on recommended campgrounds between Winnipeg and Calgary. We'll be hauling a tent trailer with us and will have about a week for camping and we're just going one-way(Wpg to Calgary).

We're looking more for family camping as well as we have a 11 month old. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks!

Hi 75Islandgirl,

It's been awhile since I did this haul (1325 Kms) and last time I did it with just one overnight, LOL.

We stayed at the KAO in Indian Head, Saskatchewan it was quite nice.

Seeing as you have a week... I would make a point of one of your stops being the RCMP Academy & Museum in Regina... it is very interesting.

Hope this is (somewhat) helpful,

Cheers!

Thanks for your reply. We'll be sure to check out the RCMP Depot when we go through Regina.

We usually find provincial campgrounds reliable and with that distance in mind, I'd probably first stop outside of Regina at a campground with a beach.......

Our preference is to stay put for most of the time once we find a place we like, but I think one stop in Saskatchewan and another near Drumheller to see the Badlands in Alberta, would be worthwhile.

Hope that helps.

Wherever you do decide to stay in Manitoba you can book online here http://prsltl.gov.mb.ca/

Ive always liked Kiche Manitou campground at Spruce Woods Provincial Park about two hours west of Winnipeg. Ive only stayed there in a tent (great tent sites btw) but from the website it seems they do have full hook up sites for all kinds of motorhomes.
