Whale Watching

Hi!

Can you please advise me on the best place to go Whale watching in the beginning of Sept?

I have been looking around but there are many different answers....I will also be at Saint John's NB, so if there is a better one out of there, that would be an option as well!

Thank you!

The best place is considered to be in the Bay of Fundy fairly near the mouth. You can go from further south of Saint John in New Brunswick or from the Digby/Brier Island area of Nova Scotia.

There is also good whale watching off the west coast of Cape Breton, but you will not see the large Right whales there.

The whale-watching tours from Grand Manan Island not too far from Saint John (there's a car ferry from Blacks Harbour) are also very famous and also visit the best whaling spots in the Bay of Fundy. We had a spectacular outing a number of years ago and I believe September is still good (we went mid August). But book your whale tour, whichever you chose, in advance, they are popular and can get booked up (although perhaps a little less so after Labour Day, however I would phone or email to make certain).
