August road trip! Toronto area to Nova Scotia - family of 4

Looking for your best advice and great ideas to guide our plans. We will be driving from Hamilton to Nova Scotia with our two boys (8 & 11). Planning to stop and explore in Quebec City for a day. Hoping to see Bay of Fundy, watch whales in their natural environment, hike, explore, and get to experience another part of Canada. Thoughts on kayaking or white water rafting? The entire trip will be about 10 days. Trip Advisor community has offered some great advice for other trips so we hope to hear from you!! TIA

It is good you have come here for help. I hope you are aware that ten days including driving from Hamilton and back and a day in Quebec is very little time. You will need two days for the drive each way plus the day in Quebec, giving you only five days here.

With that little time you will still be able to whale watch and see the Bay of Fundy, hike and kayak if you concentrate your time in these two areas.

From Quebec drive to the Digby area: http://goo.gl/maps/WYnim

The next day go whale watching and then drive as far east as you can towards the Advocate Harbour area, :

In this area you can explore the tides, the amazing geological beaches and fossils, kayak and hike.

I just found out about this tour recently & it sounds like something your family might be interested in. Especially since you can include a whale watching tour in the package. www.gaeltours.ca

Annapolis Royal would be a great place to spend overnight. You could even take part in a Candlelight Graveyard Tour.

The tidal bore rafting tours area would be aprox a 3 hr drive from Annapolis Royal.

Then another couple of hours drive would get you to the Parrsboro area.
