Three week road trip (New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia)

Looking for ideas of places to visit. Interested in quaint villages and natural scenery. We pick up rental car in Boston, and so far we have booked Bar Harbour, St Andrews, Moncton (just to visit Hopewell Rocks/Tides), and Cavendish. Where to from there? Where should we stay on the Cape? What towns are 'musts' in Nova Scotia? Had thought about swinging by Quebec on the way back to Boston (long distances are not an issue) or would it be preferable to fly to St Johns for a couple of days from Halifax. Is that worth visiting? Any ideas appreciated.

Three weeks is not very much time to see all that you mentioned. You will be using a lot of it travelling on the highway. What time of year are you planning to visit?

Check these websites for more info about Nova Scotia.

You would not have time to fly to St Johns. You could consider taking the ferry one way between Portland & Yarmouth.

Also look at the Top Questions to the right of this page.

For a wonderful much less touristy Bay of Fundy experience check out the links to our Bay of Fundy shore.

When are you coming? We need to know in case it is off season and some places will be closed.

If you are looking for natural beauty you will want to go to Cape Breton.

And yes you should perhaps take the Portland Yarmouth ferry one way at least.

Forget about Quebec and Newfoundland. I know you have come a long way but quality time in fewer places is better than drive by peeks of more places. I am speaking from experience having learned this lesson the hard way. We were in Australia for two short weeks last year and stuck to just three places (the traditional city, rock and reef) and had a super trip.

Do come back here to tell us when you are coming and to ask more questions once you have done a bit more research.
