ceilidhs on May 15th

We are going from Halifax to either Port Hawkesbury or Port Hood on Cape Breton Island on May 15th and would love to see and hear ceilidhs or scottish dancing. So far, I have found there is an event at the Celtic Music Interpretive Centre from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m. Would this be our best bet even though it might not be feasible time wise? Are there any local restaurants or pubs in Port Hawkesbury or Port Hood which have ceilidh music nightly?

Call the 1 800 565 0000 and ask them for the number for the Visitor Info Center in Port Hastings.

The best on a Saturday may be in Port Hawkesbury but is certainly in Cheticamp from 2-6 , or maybe even Red Shoe in Mabou.

Hi, Glenn from Nova Scotia Tourism here.

That phone # mentioned above is 902-625-4201 or just drop in when in the area.

Found this listing on www.cbchoices.com more events may be added.

Hillsborough/Glendyer Hall: Hwy #252: 902-945-2870:

May 15th - 8pm to 11pm - bi-weekly jam session, lite lunch @$ 5;

Hope this helps.
