Which route from Dunvegan to Belle Cote?

Heading north from Mabou to Cheticamp, I see that I have the choice of 3 routes between Dunvegan and Belle Cote - coastal route 219, Route 19 on the west side of the Margaree River or the East Margaree Road from Margaree Forks (or a combo of the last two, switching over at Margaree).. Which route is the best scenically? We will be driving from Cheticamp to Ingonish the next day.

Well, really it depends if you want to go inland and travel along to just see the famous salmon fishing Margaree River as if you take 219 , you miss all of that . If you have the time, go from Inverness to Margaree Forks, then right on the Cabot Trail and go inland to at least North East Margaree ( 15 minutes),maybe snack at the Dancing Goat , and then turn around and come back the Cabot trail and watch for the right turn at the foot of a hill to East Margaree and Belle Cote . Like driving Cheticamp to Ingonish is like only 2 hours of driving time and Mabou to Cheticamp would be even less .

Oh, have a look at the website , MargareeNS.com for info and lots of photos or on Facebook, Margaree Tourism or Margaree Trail . On utube you should find some aerials of the margaree and cabot trail .
